T3 Training Division Puts Training Facility to the Test

On the evening of July 22nd, East Brandywine Fire Company twenty-five volunteers participated in training. The training simulated a building fire response and allowed volunteers the first opportunity to utilize the new training containers.

According to Deputy Chief Joe Edwards "the training was a success, we were able to use all of our training props to help advance our teams skill set".

Crews on the first arriving Engine were asked to lay in for a reported working building fire, while the next due Engine reversed laid and established a water supply. The Ladder Truck took up position to facilitate a rescue from the second floor. Additional assignments included: stretching an attack line, forcing entry, laddering the building, search and rescue, and ventilation.

Vince D'Amico Assistant Chief said "everyone was engaged and performed at a high level".

Training Officer Chris Keen was extremely happy with the containers first use! Keen stated "our goal is to build the containers out however this evenings training helped highlight just how valuable they are going to be".
