The East Brandywine Fire Company is excited to announce that FF Deb Feairheller has been published in Fire Engineering Magazine. FF Feairheller is a PhD and an Assistant Professor in the Health and Exercise Physiology Department at Ursinus College.

FF Feairheller has been conducting research on the impact of stress and fitness on the volunteer firefighter. In the current Fire Engineering article FF Feairheller defines blood pressure and then goes on to describe how stress and PPE impact a firefighter's blood pressure.

Many East Brandywine firefighters participated in the first study and 17 are currently enrolled in FF Feairheller's newest research project in which a fitness plan has been incorporated.

According to Fire Chief John Edwards "I can't be more proud of Deb, not only for her day to day contributions on the fire ground but also for her research and drawing attention to firefighter fitness". Edwards added "it is an incredible accomplishment for Deb and the Fire Company to be published in such a widely respected journal".

The Officers and Members of East Brandywine Fire Company would like to congratulate FF Feairheller on this remarkable accomplishment. Additionally they would like to recognize all of the volunteers from different Companies who helped make this possible.
