On Wednesday April 20th East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers found themselves responding to multiple calls throughout the day.

The first call occurred at 1:30am when the Company was dispatched to an automatic fire alarm in the Applecross Country Club. Upon arrival crews found that the alarm was set off by cooking and quickly cleared the scene.

The Company responded back to Applecross later in the morning for a carbon monoxide alarm. Upon entry to the home which had been evacuated readings were detected. East Brandywine personnel worked on identifying the source, and turned the situation over to a contractor to mitigate the problem.

In addition to these two alarms, the Company also responded to an automatic fire alarm on Kristin Circle where a carpet installers iron set off the alarm.

Lastly volunteers responded in conjunction with volunteers from the Glen Moore Fire Company to Marshall Road for a reported woods fire. Once enroute Chief 48 was updated that the fire originated from couch that a resident was attempting to burn in a wooded area. Upon arrival Chief 48 confirmed an active woods fire with multiple exposures. As a result of the quick work of volunteers from both Companies, the fire was stopped prior to spreading to the surrounding homes.
