On Saturday morning June 18th East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers were dispatched to assist the Lionville Fire Company with reported smoke in the building on Carpenters Cove in Upper Uwchlan Township.

While en-route Chester County Emergency Radio provided Deputy 47 (Minahan) an update stating Upper Uwchlan Police were on location reporting heavy smoke showing. Deputy 47 requested the working fire dispatch, and upon arrival he and Deputy 6 (Miller) quickly sized up the situation and searched for occupants.

Engine 47-2. Tower 47, and Ladder 49 arrived on scene shortly after the Deputy. Engine 47-2 secured a supply line and crews deployed two 1.75" attack lines, while Ladder 49 personnel laddered the building and ventilated. Deputy 47 (Minahan) established command, while Deputy 49 (Edwards) handled operations.

The fire was placed under control within under an hour after arrival.

Personnel from the following Fire Companies all did an outstanding job: Lionville, West Whiteland, Ludwigs Corner, Kimberton, Fame, and Malvern. Also thanks to Uwchlan Ambulance, Upper Uwchlan Police, and PECO for their support.

As always our thoughts are with the homeowners with regards to their loss.
