On the evening of Wednesday August 10th, East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers participated in their weekly training focused around hoseline management.

Navigating a charged hoseline in tight quarters while going up or down stairs can be challenging without appropriate training. The difficulty increases when it is smokey and dark and you have multiple hoselines in service. This evening personnel participated drills which had them enter the structure through windows and advance down a very tight stairwell in smoke.

Junior Firefighter Aidan Peat said it best when he said, "I love that we train as much as we do.......you really have to get your hands on the equipment to truly understand its function". It is this sort of mindset which helps us continue to create a culture which emphasizes routine training.
