This past week proved to be a busy week for the volunteers of East Brandywine Fire Company. In addition to responding to emergencies, performing weekly equipment and apparatus checks, as well as training, our volunteers went the extra mile in a variety ways.

Over the course of the last week East Brandywine Fire Company has played host to 4 training sessions facilitated by the Chester County Department of Emergency Services. Theses training sessions were to educate First Responders from all over Chester County about the new Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system that will be implemented tomorrow. East Brandywine was fortunate to have 15 of our volunteers trained on the new system. Special thanks to Brenda Storti, and Mike Lam who facilitated set-up and to the instructors who taught the classes.

On Saturday our volunteers played an integral role in East Brandywine Township's Community Day which overwhelmingly successful. Our EMS Division kicked off the day early by supporting the 5K Run for the Parks.

As the afternoon approached the Company proudly displayed all of our apparatus and engaged residents to answer questions about the volunteer fire service. Additionally a vehicle rescue demonstration was attendee favorite. Volunteers simulated a auto-accident and described for the crowd step by step the extrication process.

As we moved into the evening hours our team transitioned and prepared to host the Community for fireworks at the Park. It proved to be an amazing event and the atmosphere was electric. Not only did spectators view a phenomenal fireworks display but they also enjoyed a DJ, moon bounce, beach balls, Frisbee's, and light food prior to the shoot.

The Officers and Members of East Brandywine Fire Company would like to thank the following organizations:

East Brandywine Parks and Recreation Committee for including us in a great day!
East Brandywine Road Master Matt Vanlew for use of the electric signboard
Thorndale Fire Company for use of a light tower
Honey Brook Fire Company for use of a light tower
Fire Police Captain Bill Ford from Honey Brook Fire Company for all his help and support!
Berwyn Fire Company for providing coverage for our Company during the fireworks event.

Also a special thanks to all of our sponsor's who made the evening possible! We will be profiling our sponsors in a separate article.

And as always thanks to our own amazing team of volunteers who continue to work on behalf of our Community to ensure its safety.
