Have you ever considered running a marathon? Have you ever fathomed the idea of running two marathons in one day? If you're like most people the answer is "no", however local resident Michael Mize will do just that in an effort to raise money for the Fire Company.

At sunrise on Saturday July 1st Mike will leave the Station and start a 49 mile journey that will have him pass several Fire Companies over the course of the day and will end his run back at the Station later that same day. Can you say AMAZING, we think so!

Mike who is an ultra-marathoner who created this novel fundraising idea in an effort to assist with our funding. On Mike's 49 for 49 website Mike explained his rationale best by saying the following"

"Lastly, the reason that I chose to fundraise for the East Brandywine Fire Company – I think that they are the best. And I know that we do not have enough residents donating to their annual fund drive. They have helped out my family in our various activities – from helping with the annual Fall Festival bonfire at Brandywine Wallace to hosting AED/CPR training for EBYA baseball and soccer coaches, they are always available and willing to help. And most personally – their prompt, professional, and thorough response to my wife’s car accident back in January."

We ask you to please consider sponsoring Mike in this incredible journey / run! Also please check out the course route and assist us in showing Mike support along the way.
