Mike Mize, a.k.a. Superman, accomplished a pretty incredible feat on Saturday, July 1st. He ran 49 miles in one day to help raise money for Station 49. Mike designed a course that weaved it's way through western Chester County and stopped at many fire stations along the way.

Mike left East Brandywine Fire Company just after daybreak at 5:37 am and completed his run in just over 14 hours

Mike came up with the idea to raise money after his wife had been involved in a auto accident in East Brandywine. He wanted to do to something to give back to the fire house and the run idea became a reality.

During the run QRS Captain Greg Kohlmaier rode his bicycle along side for support. The last four miles Mike was joined by Junior Firefighter Nate Mucha who ran beside him wearing full turnout gear.

As Mike turned and headed for home he was met with a Police and Fire Department escort. He finished at station 49 with many family and friends waiting to greet him.

EBFC would like to thank all the Fire Companies on Mikes route who were there with water and a place to rest, he couldn't have accomplished his run without the support. Mike reports that he has raised close to $3000.00 for the Fire Company.

The Officers and Members of EBFC would like to thank Mike for a phenomenal job!
