On Wednesday July 12th, East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers were dispatched to assist the Glen Moore Fire Company on a house fire on Devereux Road in Wallace Township.

The caller who called 911 from an adjoining property reported seeing a house on fire with flames from the roof area.

Engine 49-1 and Ladder 49 made the response shortly after dispatch (Engine 49-5 is out of service this week for preventative maintenance) along with all three Chief Officers.

Upon arrival of Engine 48-5, Lieutenant 48 confirmed a working fire and asked Chester County Emergency Radio to fill out the box.

Personnel encountered a well involved fire from the roof, attic, and second floor. The bulk of the fire was quickly contained however given the age of the home and type of construction crews spent an extended time checking for extension and performing overhaul.

The Officers and Members of East Brandywine Fire Company would like to extend our thoughts to the family who was affected by this fire.

Thank-you to Photo-journalist Mark Walsh for use the photographs.
