On Wednesday evening twenty four East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers participated in Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) training. The training class is being conducted by Bucks County Community College and will take place over 16 hours.

The class was facilitated by Instructor Ben Serfass. FF Serfass in addition to being a Bucks County Instructor is also a career firefighter in Philadelphia and an East Brandywine volunteer.

RIT is an integral part of fire ground operations and is utilized when a firefighter or firefighters experience a problem and need assistance. Some of these problems include: firefighters trapped by a building collapse, becoming lost or disoriented, or having a medical emergency.

Chief D'Amico stated "this is important training since we have been asked to provide RIT operations for more Companies".

Special thanks to Instructor Serfass for sharing his knowledge and making class interactive.
