T3 Training

T3 Training In Action

East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers take pride in providing high quality emergency services to the Community.   In order to accomplish this goal it is important that our personnel routinely train in order to be prepared to mitigate the most difficult situations.  We train like our lives depend on it, because they do!  Here are some important facts about our training program.

  • In 2013 our training personnel wanted to elevate the importance of routine, hands on training.  In an effort to do this, not only was a small training center built, but a name and logo was also created.  Our training division was named T3 (Triple Threat Training).
  • Our training program is headed up by our Training Officer Chris Keen.  Training Officer Keen is a veteran of the fire service with over 25 years of experience.  Training Officer Keen has served in multiple positions including a Chief Officer role.  Training Officer Keen has created a dynamic training program that engages the learner and covers all facets of emergency service.
  • The T3 training center includes a 40’x40’ concrete pad equipped with a door prop, flat roof prop, peaked roof prop, and bail out simulator.  The T3 training center will add shipping containers in early 2015 for search/rescue and fire suppression simulations.  Additionally T3 training has partnered with Delaware County Community College for use of an old dormitory on the campus.
  • The T3 training program includes routine training every Wednesday night for a minimum of 2 hours.  On average 25 volunteers attend weekly training sessions.
  • In addition to in-house training, East Brandywine Fire Company supports certificate based training as well.  To that end, 75% of East Brandywine Fire Fighters meet the National Qualifications Standards.  East Brandywine Fire Company is one of only seventy-five fire companies in the State to be recognized by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner for this achievement.  In 2015 East Brandywine forged a relationship with Bucks County Community College to offer certificate based training internally.
  • In the event that your Company would like to utilize the T3 training center for drills.  Please contact Assistant Chief Vince D’Amico for more information.
