By East Brandywine Fire Company
March 21, 2022

Early Monday morning at 3:37a.m the volunteers from East Brandywine were dispatched to assist the Thorndale Fire Company with a house fire in the 1700blk of Fisherville Rd. Initial reports were that the caller could see flames from an attached garage of the house and believed no one was home.

Battalion 49 arrived on location and reported a 1 1/2 story single family dwelling with fire in the basement, garage and first floor. Chief 38 arrived right after and assumed Fisherville Rd Command.

Engine 76 arrived followed by Engine 49-5 and both crews stretched handlines to the front door. Engine 76 went to the second floor and made an attack on the fire there while Engine 49-5's crew went to the first floor and also made a push down the interior stairs to the basement making an aggressive attack on the fire. Crews from 49 also completed a primary search of the first floor and basement and operated on the roof opening up.

As additional crews showed up two additional handlines were stretched by Engine 38 and Ladder 41's crews. A tanker task force was also dispatched due to no hydrants in the immediate area. Tankers responded to the Caln Meetinghouse side and supplied the scene with water through a 5 inch supply line that was laid by Rescue 38.

A second and third alarm were requested for manpower. The fire was placed under control at 4:42a.m with extensive overhaul
