Monday morning at 8:47am, EBFC volunteers were dispatched to 322 Westbound in the area of Hopewell Rd for a disabled trash truck that had leaked approx. 100 gallons of hydraulic fluid on the roadway. The trash truck was able to pull into the Sunoco parking lot but not before a large amount of the fluid leaked on the roadway.

Rescue, QRS, Utility, Battalion and Deputy 49 all made the response. Due to the large area that was affected the westbound side of 322 was closed at Corner Ketch Rd so that crews could work safely and clean up the spill. A large amount of oil dry was placed to absorb the fluid as best as possible. A power washing company was also brought to the scene to assist with the cleanup.

Crews were on scene for just under two hours and the roadway was re-opened at 10:45am.
