Station 49 volunteers assisted West Whiteland Fire Company on a working structure fire today. Initial crews were met with a fire running multiple void spaces in the floors and walls of a building under construction.

Ladder and Utility 49 made the response. EBFC’s crew was assigned to the second floor, assisting with opening up the interior to access the fire. Conditions began to rapidly deteriorate while crews attacked the fire. Firefighters evacuated the building and switched to a exterior fire attack operation.

Crews from Ladder 49, upon exiting the building, opened up a portion of the roof for ventilation. East Brandywine responded with 12 firefighters.
