| Sunday morning at 11:03am the East Brandywine Fire Company was dispatched along with multiple other companies to assist Westwood Fire Company at a reported house fire. Initial reports came in stating smoke showing from the attached garage.
Ladder 49, Engine 49-2 and Utility 49 made the response along with Chief and Assistant 49. First arriving units from Westwood reported smoke showing and requested the working fire dispatch.
Ladder 49 arrived on scene and place the aerial to the roof. Crews then worked to open up vent holes in the roof while other companies operated on the interior with several handlines. Engine 49-2 and the Utility arrived and assisted the Ladder crew.
The fire was placed under control at 11:42am.
We learned after the fire that the home belonged to a volunteer firefighter from Sadsburyville Fire Company. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their family. Please see the link below for information on helping with donations for the family organized by Sadsburyville Fire Company |
