| This evening at 5:24pm the box assignment was dispatched for a report of a house fire in the 1600blk of Goosetown Rd in East Fallowfield. East Brandywine Fire Company as the RIT were dispatched along with other mutual aid to assist the Modena Fire Company. Due to reports the working fire dispatch was requested quickly along with a 1st alarm Tanker Task Force which now also added Engine 49-5 on the call.
Rescue 49 made the response quickly followed by Engine 49-5. Crews from EBFC arrived on scene and set up in the driveway as the RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) while Engine 49-5 stood by ready to deliver it's water to the scene if needed. Once the fire was under control the RIT was stood down and crews assisted on the roof with opening up
The fire was quickly knocked down by first in crews and four dogs and a cat were removed from the home. Unfortunately one dog didn't make it but the other three were transported by personal vehicle and by Utility 37 to VRC in Malvern to be treated and are reported to be doing well.
Engine 49-5 was released from the scene and Rescue 49's crew remained on the scene and assisted with cleanup and re-packing the 5 inch supply line on Engine 37 before clearing the scene. |
