Just after midnight, East Brandywine Fire Company was dispatched along with mutual aid to assist the Thorndale Fire Company on a reported house fire on Arya Lane in the Mi Place Development off Route 322.

Engine 49-2 responded on dispatch with a crew of six, including Chief 49, and arrived as the first-due engine. The crew secured their own water supply and stretched a 1¾” handline to the front door.

Initial reports indicated a fire on the stovetop with a residential sprinkler activation. Crews made entry and confirmed the sprinkler system had contained the fire, limiting extension and helping prevent further damage.

As additional units arrived, Chief 38 placed the assignment under control and held the response to Stations 38 and 49 only.
