Earlier this year the company replaced all of its 5 inch supply line with new hose. We then placed the old hose up for sale. This week we finalized the sale of the hose to two different fire companies. The first set left this past Tuesday via a shipping company to a fire company in the Midwest. The second set was picked on Friday. The Blue Mountain District VFD of Nova Scotia saw our ad for the hose for sale and contacted us. Has luck would have it, they were coming down to a fire truck dealer in Lancaster to pick up a used firetruck. So we made a deal with them on the hose. We even through in an old lightbar which we took off our tanker which was laying around collecting dust. The Blue Mtn. VFD has a 75 square mile district, but only runs 35 – 40 calls a year. The guys arrived just before dinnertime, and where met by Chief Edwards who gave them a tour of the station & apparatus. After we helped them load the hose into their pickup, we told them where a good spot to eat was in Bird-in-Hand, we saw them on there way and wished them well on their 1000 mile trip home in this hot weather.
