Last week, six volunteers from East Brandywine Fire Company attended the Firehouse Expo and Conference in Baltimore, MD. During their two days at the conference, the volunteers attended six classes each. The classes covered fire and rescue operations, tactics, decision making, leadership, and safety. The classes were taught by many well known fire service instructors and active officers in the FDNY.
Following each day's classes, the volunteers attended the expo where they had the opportunity to network with firefighters and EMS personnel from across the country. Many vendors displayed the latest equipment in fire and rescue technology.
The firefighters learned valuable skills and lessons that they will be able to bring back to EBFC's weekly in-house training.
