At 11:17 PM last night, the Downingtown Fire Department was dispatched for a fire alarm at Primo Hoagies, located at 24 E. Lancaster Avenue. Upon arrival, Downingtown crews encountered a smoke condition inside the business and requested assistance from East Brandywine Fire Company.
Ladder 49 and Utility 49-1 responded and set up on the Lancaster Avenue side of the building. EBFC personnel entered the building alongside Downingtown units to assist with the investigation. Using thermal imaging cameras, crews conducted an extensive search of the interior, checking electrical outlets, lighting ballasts, and other potential sources.
Although a visible haze was present, no active fire was located. As a precaution, Engine 45 stretched and charged a 1¾” hoseline to the door but did not need to place it in service. After approximately 30 minutes of searching, the smoke condition began to dissipate. With no further signs of fire or hazard, the incident was turned over to the property owner and all units cleared the scene. |
