August 2, 2019

On Friday night August 2nd at 8:35pm East Brandywine Fire Company Volunteers were dispatched to Pottstown Pike & Rockland Dr in West Whiteland Township to assist Station 6 on a working fire at a building that was under construction.

West Whiteland and numerous other companies were dispatched a short time prior to this for a report of black smoke coming from a building at this intersection. MICU 187 was in the area and arrived first and report smoke showing from the eaves. A short time after that police arrived and confirmed a working fire.

Members of Station 49 had been closely monitoring the call as they knew they would be dispatched if it was a working fire. Due to this multiple members were already enroute or at the station when command asked for the working fire dispatch.

Ladder 49, Engine 49-2 and Chief 49 all made the response. Upon arrival crews went to the front of the building and stood by to assist if needed. Crews from Station 6 and other responding companies already had the fire knocked down however due to tremendous team work and rapid responses. At that time it was determined that Engine 49-2 could return to station and Ladder 49 was asked to stand by at Station 6 to cover them until they could clear the scene.

EBFC responded with a total of 13 volunteers
