December 26, 2019

On Thursday December 26th at 17:05hrs EBFC was alerted to assist the Honey Brook Fire Company for the reported house fire in the 400blk of Icedale Rd. Shortly thereafter EBFC was also alerted for an auto accident with entrapment on Highspire Rd in East Brandywine Township.

Deputy 49, Ladder 49, Engine 49-2 and 49-5 all responded to the initial call for the house fire. Once on-scene personnel operated for about 25 minutes until the situation was placed under control and the Company was released by Command 33.

Chief 49, Assistant 49, Battalion 49, Engine 49-1, QRS 49, responded to the auto accident with entrapment. The Glen Moore Fire Company was added to the assignment to assist due to units responding to the house fire. EMS units from Westwood, Coatesville, Minquas, Uwchlan and Medic 93 from Brandywine Hospital also responded as a result of the number of patients injured.

Personnel from both East Brandywine Fire Company and Glen Moore Fire Company worked closely together to quickly and safely extricate the entrapped patient from the car. A total of 4 patients were transported to a local trauma center by the aforementioned EMS units for definitive care.

Once the extrication was completed Flings Towing was on site and removed both vehicles.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the those involved in the accident and wish all the victims a speedy recovery.

The Line Officers would like to thank our 21 members who turned out to ensure we were able to respond to two serious incidents simultaneously.
