Tuesday morning 1/24/2023 at 11:27am the company was dispatched to Pope John Paul II School for a fire alarm. Engine 49-2 made the response and on arrival found nothing evident. Crews investigated and found that the system was under maintenance and there was no issue.
As Engine 49-2 cleared the scene they were alerted of a second call for an auto accident at the intersection of E. Reeceville & Manor. 49-2 made the response while Rescue 49 and Utility 49 made the response from the station. Crews arrived on scene to a two vehicle accident blocking traffic. EMS from Westwood arrived and checked on one patient while the fire crews assisted with debris removal and traffic control.
Crews were on scene for approx. 25 minutes before the roadway was cleared and units were available.
