November 3, 2025

On Monday at 1:31 PM, East Brandywine Fire Company, along with multiple other departments, was dispatched to assist the Westwood Fire Company for a reported house fire in the 100 block of Highland Avenue in Valley Township.

Initial reports indicated a neighbor called after seeing smoke coming from the home, with additional information suggesting it may have been from the fireplace. Ladder 41 arrived first and reported nothing showing from the exterior.
Rescue 49, Utility 49-1, and Utility 49-2 responded with a total of 13 members. While crews were still enroute, the assignment was placed under control and held to the units on scene.

As EBFC units were approaching the Airport Road ramp on the Route 30 Bypass, a second house fire assignment was dispatched to the 200 block of Cambridge Road in West Caln Township. Due to Rescue 49’s proximity, they were added to that assignment as well.
Units from Honey Brook Fire Company arrived first and found a dumpster well off in the driveway with exposure to the side of the home. Rescue 49’s crew assisted with checking the interior for extension. Thankfully, aside from some melted siding, there was no additional damage to the home.

Crews remained on scene for approximately 15 minutes before being cleared.
