December 5, 2025

On Friday morning at 9:14am the East Brandywine Fire Company was dispatched as part of the mutual aid response to the 1500blk Eagle Ridge Dr in West Bradford for a report of a house fire. Initial reports stated smoke coming from the basement.

Captain 38 (Thorndale) arrived first and reported a 2 1/2 story single family dwelling with smoke showing from the roof. Chief 39 arrived and took Command of the scene. Engine 38 arrived and laid in from the hydrant and stretched a handline in the front door while Tower 45 backed into the driveway and put the aerial to the roof. Rescue 49 arrived next and was originally dispatched for the RIT but was stood down by Chief 39 and put to work on the interior assisting Engine 38's crew.

Engine 49-5 and Ladder 49 also made the response and on arrival crews utilized Tower 45's aerial to go to the roof with 45's crew and began opening up. Interior crews had fire conditions on the "C" side of the building both divisions 1 & 2 and had several handlines in service.

Crews were able to get the fire under control quickly and all occupants were out of the building. It has been reported that the families cat did not make it out of the fire unfortunately.

EBFC responded with 16 members

Units: Rescue 49, Engine 49-5, Ladder 49
