Small Brush Fire After Tree Hits Wires

This afternoon at approximately 1530 hrs, The East Brandywine Fire Company was dispatched to the Hillendale development of East Brandywine Township for a report of trees down on wires smoking and sparking. Chief 49, Engine 49-2 and Engine 49-5 made the response and indeed found trees had fallen on power lines which ignited a small brush fire. The crew from Engine 49-2 stretched a 300' line to extinguish the small fire as well as wet down the immediate area to prevent any further fires. PECO would eventually mitigate the hazard.
