| At 9:18 a.m. this morning, the East Brandywine Fire Company, along with mutual aid departments, was dispatched to the area of Capital Drive and Swinehart Road in West Brandywine Township for the report of a house fire.
Initial reports indicated a new home under construction had a generator on fire inside the structure. Dispatch also advised responding units of one burn patient.
FM29 arrived on scene to find a one-story home under construction with fire visible and confined to one area of the structure.
Engine 76 and Engine 49-2 arrived shortly thereafter. Crews from Engine 76 deployed a 1¾-inch handline, while firefighters from Engine 49-2 utilized a dry chemical fire extinguisher. Crews found a gas-powered air compressor and generator on fire, with extension into portions of the home's wooden framing.
The fire was quickly brought under control, limiting damage to a small area of the structure. The assignment was then reduced to units from Station 49 and Engine 76 to complete overhaul and ensure there was no further fire extension.
