| At 2:36 a.m. Sunday morning, the East Brandywine Fire Company, along with EMS from Westwood, was dispatched to the 400 block of Reeceville Road in West Brandywine Township for a reported motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries.
Shortly after the initial dispatch, the assignment was upgraded to a vehicle rescue with entrapment after reports indicated one occupant was trapped inside an overturned vehicle.
Rescue 49, Engine 49-1, Deputy 49, and Safety 49 responded to the scene. Safety 49 arrived first and confirmed that one occupant remained inside the overturned vehicle.
Fortunately, the driver was trapped only because of their seatbelt. Firefighters quickly cut the seatbelt and safely assisted the occupant from the vehicle. EMS personnel from MICU 244-1 assumed patient care and evaluated the driver on scene.
Rescue and Engine crews remained on location until Fling's Towing uprighted the vehicle. Firefighters then assisted with debris cleanup before clearing the scene just before 4:00 a.m. |
