During our weekly company training, crews participated in a confined space confidence maze at the West Chester Fire Training Center. They navigated a tight maze in full protective gear and breathing apparatus under zero-visibility conditions, simulating the challenging environments encountered during real structure fires.
This training required firefighters to rely on touch, sound, and teamwork to safely navigate tight spaces, entanglement hazards, and unexpected obstacles. The exercise focused on mastering equipment, managing air consumption, and maintaining calm and methodical actions when facing stressful situations. |
