School visits for Fire Prevention continued today, this time with a visit to Pope John Paul Elementary School!
Members of the East Brandywine Fire Company spent time with the students going over all aspects of fire prevention and fire safety. We were also joined by a very special member of our Fire Prevention Team — Axe, our inflatable firefighter! 🧑‍🚒
Axe absolutely loves getting to see all the kids and helping our firefighters talk about fire prevention this time of year!
This year’s Fire Prevention theme is:
⚡ “Charge into Fire Safety. Safe Charging is a Superpower.” ⚡
Axe shared some of his Charging Superpower Tips with us, and he wants everyone to remember:
🔌 Use the right charger!
Don’t use cheap or questionable chargers for your devices. Always use the cord and charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer.
📱 Charge on a hard surface!
Never charge phones, tablets, laptops or other devices on a bed, couch, pillow or other soft surface. Place them on a hard surface such as a table, desk or bare floor while charging.
🔋 Charged? Unplug it!
Once your device is fully charged, unplug it. Don’t leave devices charging longer than necessary.
But Axe says those aren’t his only Charging Superpowers! He has more fire-safety tips he wants to share throughout the week.
Be sure to check back as we continue our school visits and share more Charging Superpowers from Axe and our firefighters! 🚒⚡🔥
