This morning at 8:59 AM, East Brandywine Fire Company volunteers, along with Minquas EMS and the East Brandywine Township Police Department, were dispatched to the intersection of Creek Road and Hopewell Road for a reported motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle that had left the roadway and entered a stream.
Rescue 49, QRS 49, and Utility 49-1 responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found a single vehicle off the roadway in a drainage area near the stream. The occupant had already exited the vehicle and was being evaluated by EMS personnel from Minquas.
Due to the vehicle's location and the challenging terrain, Fling's Towing was requested to the scene with their heavy-duty rotator truck to assist with the recovery. The rotator was utilized to carefully lift the vehicle out of the ditch and over the surrounding rocks.
While the recovery operation was underway, East Brandywine firefighters assisted with traffic control, closing Hopewell Rd between Route 282 and Township Road to provide a safe working area for the towing operators and emergency personnel.
Once the vehicle was successfully recovered and the scene was cleared, the roadway was reopened to traffic at 10:50 AM.
We would like to thank Fling's Towing for their assistance with the challenging recovery, as well as Minquas EMS and the East Brandywine Township Police Department for their teamwork on scene.
